About Me
Nicholaus Erber-LaPierre, PhD, LMHC, CCTP, BC-TMH
Trauma Specialist | LGBTQIA+ Affirming | Clinical Educator
Welcome!
I’m Dr. Nicholaus Erber-LaPierre, and I’m honored to support individuals, couples, and families on their journeys toward healing, authenticity, and growth. With nearly two decades of experience as a licensed mental health counselor, I specialize in working with trauma, particularly religious trauma, LGBTQIA+ identity development, men’s issues, and complex emotional challenges such as depression and anxiety.
As both a member of the LGBTQ+ community and a person of faith, I understand the nuanced intersections between identity, spirituality, and healing. I bring this lived experience into the therapy room with compassion, openness, and a deep respect for your unique story. My approach is integrative and trauma-informed, drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Lifespan Integration, Mindfulness-Based CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Prolonged Exposure Therapy.
I hold a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Walden University and an MA in Community Counseling from Western Michigan University. In addition to my clinical work, I serve as Core Faculty at Antioch University Seattle, where I help train the next generation of counselors.
Whether you’re navigating trauma, identity, relationships, or life transitions, I offer a safe and affirming space to explore, heal, and grow. Therapy with me is collaborative, creative, and grounded in the belief that meaningful change is possible. I offer both in-person and telehealth sessions from my office in Renton, WA.
Let’s connect and begin your journey toward a more empowered and fulfilling life.
